Department: The Laboratory and Blood Gas Lab at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), which is the oldest accrediting body in U.S. healthcare and is recognized as the gold standard in laboratory medicine. Accreditation by the CAP also satisfies the inspection criteria of The Joint Commission and CLIA. Patients can receive quality and professional care at several locations in the region. Procedures include urinalysis, histology, hematology, phlebotomy, and more.
Position: The successful Phlebotomist will collect blood from patients for diagnostic tests.
1. High school graduate or its equivalent.
2. Certification in Phlebotomy or a medical related program preferred, with a phlebotomy course curriculum included, from an accredited educational institution.
3. Must be able to relate to patients (specifically neonate, pediatric, young adult, adult and geriatric as appropriate) interpreting information in terms of their needs via verbal and/or non-verbal cues.
