Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operation, providing leadership, supervision, & support to improve the effectiveness of the department. Operates under the general guidance & supervision of the director. Maintains and manages compliance with the intent of regulations, standards, or directives applicable (Accrediting agencies [i.e. JCAHO], State regulatory [hospital licensing, IDPH], Medicare conditions of participation, Federal regulatory [OSHA], Quality assurance and improvement). Maintains daily visability within department with sensitivity for those who work various shifts. Conducts department meetings on at least a montly basis to address questions & promote communication. Supervisies the development & communication of operating guidelines for use by co-colleagues. Four (4) year degree in Medical Technology & registered as MT(ASCP) is required. Three (3) years experience with similar job duties is preferred. Excellent communication and people skills are required.
