Department: The RN Residency Program at St. Elizabeth’s is a unique and comprehensive, evidence-based transition program that prepares the newly graduated nurse to be a safe, competent, and confident nursing professional. Individual Preceptors and Mentors are assigned to each participant to teach technical skills, share clinical knowledge, and assist with clinical decision making skills. This innovative, one-on-one attention allows new nurses an additional resource during their first year of work.
Position: The successful RN Resident will actively participate in all activities related to the RN Program consisting of at least 18 weeks of clinical as well as classroom time. Residents will be assigned a primary unit but will also serve on other units to gain overall hospital exposure and knowledge. Residents will work closely with preceptors and mentors throughout the Residency program.
1. Graduation from an accredited Nursing program;
2. Valid Illinois RN license or eligible;
3. CPR certification;
4. Submit on-line application; and
5. Completion of RN Residency Packet.
Packets must include current resume, three letters of reference from clinical instructors, and official college transcripts.
