Shall be responsible for the technical performance of special procedure examination within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Shall operate equipment and handle specialized supplies in the procedure room. Perform scrub duties as assigned. Shall operate, through computer technique manipulation, all equipment related to Digital Subtract Angiography. Under the direct supervision of the nurse manager, is responsible for inventory control.
Reports to Cardiology Nurse Manager and Department of Radiology Manager when applicable. Accountable to physician director for medical direction.
ARRT Registry (RTR), Massachusetts RT licensure, specialized certification in cardiac technology preferred. Minimum two  years experience preferably in a diagnostic and interventional cardiology setting.

2. Work Responsibilities
A. Operate all equipment used in the performance of special procedures, cardiac angiography and permanent pacemaker implantations including radiographic equipment, computers, injectors, contrast media, specialized sterile trays and equipment, and special darkroom techniques.
B. Assist the physician in performing procedures including equipment manipulation and patient positioning within the procedure room.
C. Advise the nurse manager of equipment and inventory needs in a timely fashion.
D. Perform daily control checks as directed.
E. Manipulate computer techniques to obtain post processing images and transfer images to appropriate media.
F. Assist in monitoring of patient condition during procedure.
G. Prepare preliminary reports and hard copies of findings for patient transfers to tertiary care facilities as directed.
H. Maintain logs, files, and records of patients and staff as they relate to radiation exposure.
I. Respond promptly in emergency situations. Available during call hours with a 30-minute call back.
J. Demonstrate ability to organize time, schedule, and workload.
K. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed and demonstrate flexibility in response to reassignments
