The Advanced Nurse Registered Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) coordinates care for a variety of patients including hospitalized or ambulatory individuals with acute and chronic conditions. In collaboration with the medical and nursing staff, the APRN monitors the clinical care of patients and provides holistic clinical support to improve patient care and outcomes. The APRN provides care as defined by the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and reports to the Clinic Manager or designee.
APRN requirements: Advanced Degree required. Licensed by Kansas State Board of Nursing as APRN required. Certification within Specialty preferred. Must obtain BLS certification prior to providing patient care. Two years previous experience as an APRN preferred.
PA requirements: Advanced Degree required. PA Certification required. Certification specific to area of clinical expertise preferred. Must obtain BLS certification prior to providing patient care. Two years previous experience as a PA preferred.
