The Information Systems (IS) Supervisor, Ambulatory, Ancillary & Business Applications position is focused on supervising a professional work team of IS application analysts.  The supervisor, Ambulatory, Ancillary & Business Applications ensures the effective operations of the team.  This is accomplished through these functions:


§  Manage the Health System's large and complex technology projects including selection, budgeting, installation, training, maintenance, and upgrades of the computerized systems utilized by SAHS

§  Plans, organizes, assigns, schedules and controls work flow for the team

§  Functions as a team leader in the IS department ensuring effective operation of the team as a customer-focused, service-oriented team

§  Act as liaison between the customer, Information Systems technical staff and hardware and software vendors to ensure a properly functioning system and optimal use of information technology

§  Oversee the development, testing, and maintenance of computerized interfaces

§  Function as an expert resource in ambulatory, ancillary and business applications for direct reporting staff

§  Utilizes organizational skills that lead to the effective management of projects, tasks, applications, and employees.  These skills include analysis, problem definition and solution, conflict resolution, team/project management, planning and consulting

§   Analyzes budgetary needs and make recommendations based on financial targets and business objectives

§  Determines priorities and time lines for team projects and adjusts as necessary to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner

§  Monitor customer satisfaction with project execution and operational support.  Identifies opportunities and implements changes to drive service/programming improvement

  • Is accessible for critical system support when needed.


§  Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Sciences, or a clinical discipline required

  • Project Management training/certification desired
  •  Vendor issued certification of application knowledge or competency for assigned systems required where available. 

§  Able to manage complex projects and lead teams and meetings

§  Sound troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills

§  Proficient in project management and scheduling

§  Possess proven computer and analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills

§  Able to work independently without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment and discretion

§  Have working knowledge of current operating system deployed at SAHS and Microsoft Office Suite

§  Experience with systems currently used by SAHS desired

§  Able to deliver presentations to all levels of customers including senior management

§  Possess organizational and attention to detail skills

§  Prioritize work load to meet health system needs

§  Employ excellent consulting skills

§  Strong customer service focus

§  Ability to effectively manage change

§  Demonstrates ability to mentor staff and assist them in attaining desired results based on individual goals and objectives

§  Minimum of two years application analyst experience required

  • Experience supervising staff preferred
