After four years, SwedishAmerican has revised its policy on hiring candidates that use nicotine products. Candidates will no longer be denied employment if they cannot successfully pass the nicotine screen. If the associate is benefits eligible, they will be subject to a nicotine user surcharge on medical benefits.
With this policy change, we are encouraging those who did not interview, were denied employment, or know of someone who did not apply due to the nicotine policy to apply and/or spread the word.
SwedishAmerican prides itself on being a nicotine free campus. Smoking on company grounds is still prohibited.
