Salary Range: $10.82 - $15.62

Job Details:
  • Administers quality nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of an RN, LPN, or physician demonstrating clinical competence and meeting established unit standards in the performance of specific nursing procedures.  Promotes teamwork with staff, physicians, and other disciplines. 

     

    JOB DUTIES

    1.       Actively demonstrates the organization's mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.

    2.       Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.

    3.       Collaborates with the RN, LPN or physician to carry out the nursing and medical plans of care for the patient. 

    4.       May incubate, prepares IV's, disperses medicines, and other treatments currently certified to provide, under the direction of the supervising physician. 

    5.       Performs splint applications and cast removals as well as other procedures after training completed. 

    6.       Takes vital signs, monitors pulses, pulse oximetry, applies automatic non-invasive blood pressure cuffs, operates safely, and applies EKG monitoring as needed. 

    7.       Performs EKG on patients as indicated in EMX protocol or under the direction of RN. 

    8.       Assumes co-responsibility for patient zone in conjunction with RN, as needed after approved and in-serviced, according to Emergency Department Standards and protocols. 

    9.       Responsible for replenishing patient areas with equipment and supplies. 

    10.   Assists in Emergency Department continuing education by participating in-services related to pre-hospital care of the patients. 

    11.   Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

     

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

    Education:  High School diploma or equivalent. 

    Licensure:  BLS certification upon hire or able to obtain within 60 days. 

    Experience:  One year experience as practicing EMT-P. 

    Other Job Requirements: 

    Strong customer service and communication skills.  

    Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs.
