Job Details:
  • Operates Hospital motor vehicle(s) in order to complete a variety of pick-up and delivery assignments.  Maintains delivery documentation with appropriate forms. Ensures vehicle is maintained in a clean, safe and mechan­i­cally sound operating condition.



    1.       Actively demonstrates the organization's mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.

    2.       Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.

    3.       Receives messages to deliver and pick up items, and plans activities so that assignments can be completed as quickly as possible.

    4.       Walks to various Hospital departments to pick up and deliver items needing to be transported

    5.       Operates Hospital motor vehicle(s) in order to pick up and deliver a wide variety of items such as checks, mail, packages, letters, laundry, supplies and so forth.

    6.       Maintains log of destination, pick-ups and delivery times to accurately document.

    7.       Maintains Hospital vehicle(s) in good, clean operating order by regularly washing and refueling vehicle(s).  No­tifies supervisor of repairs and service needs. 

    8.       Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.




    Education: High School graduate

    Licensure: Current and appropriate driver's licensure required by the State of Indiana

    Experience: Previous delivery experience required

    Other job requirements:

    Work requires the ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions.  Occasionally requires contact with patients and/or visitors, which involves ordinary courtesy.

    Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs.
