  • THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARY. 

     

    Responsible for the day-to-day recruitment functions in the Human Resource Department. Organizes the functional areas of human resources (within scope of organizational structure) including, but not limited to, recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee/labor relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organizational development, recognition, training, diversity/EEO, and special projects. Prepares reports in conformance with legislated requirements or organization needs.

    JOB DUTIES

    1.   Actively demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.

    2.   Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.

    3.   Maintains appropriate competency for job responsibilities (state, federal and agency compliance).

    4.        Participates in meetings, in-services, training, and educational opportunities related to job responsibilities, professional growth and competence.  Assists with accreditation and agency licensing processes relative to job responsibilities.

    5.        Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel and assists in development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Assures all methods of practice conform to written established policies and procedures.

    6.        Coordinates and implements various employee relations activities and employee communication initiatives (i.e. recognition programs).

    7.        Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Assists with budget preparation and monitoring expenses.

    8.        Monitors HR compliance matters, compensation program and performance evaluation program and makes recommendations as deemed appropriate.

    9.        Assures appropriate benefit program administration and communication is provided on benefit information to employees.  May include benefit counseling, clarification, problem solving and record keeping.

    10.     Develops and maintains various records, employment files and reports that conform to regulatory and organizational needs.

    11.     Handles employee relations, counseling, investigations, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.  Discusses findings and trends with senior management.  Helps employees and supervisors settle work-related conflicts through advice and recommendation.

    12.     Conducts (and/or participates in) orientation and training programs.  Identifies training needs and makes recommendations.

    13.     Performs recruitment/hiring responsibilities for all associates, students and temporary staff members based on organizational procedures. Represents the organization at job fairs, career days and other activities to attract qualified candidates. Maintains a liaison with schools, associations and other recruiters. Writes and places advertisements.

    14.     Maintains computerized HR database.  Generates reports in such areas as employment analysis, turnover, and benefit activity.  Researches human resource policies and procedures and programs.  Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in efficiency of department and services performed.

    15.     Maintains a commitment to performance improvement initiatives by actively pursuing opportunities for increasing competence, improving work processes and participating on process improvement committees as assigned.

    16.     Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

     

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

    Education: Knowledge of principles or techniques normally obtained through a formal four-year college/university academic program. 

    Licensure: None

    Experience: Previous experience in general human resource principles and employee benefits strongly preferred.  Requires excellent communication skills, word-processing, and spreadsheet skills. Must have sufficient knowledge of administrative practices and procedures. Must have demonstrated the following behaviors: detail orientation, service excellence, creativity, adaptability, dependability, time management, decision-making, and cooperation.

    Other Job Requirements:  Strong communication skills.
