Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining a visible presence with a unified, engaging brand voice on all social media platforms. This presence includes all current social media outlets, as well as new outlets and digital network opportunities. In addition to writing, aggregating, posting and tracking day-to-day social media content featuring key messages, the Social Media Specialist also works closely with the regional marketing/PR/communications team and outside vendors to develop and deploy a regional social media strategy that drives differentiation and engagement with the brand. Position serves as a lead responsible for crafting consistent brand messaging and implementing brand design standards across all regional social media outlets.
Social Media Specialist works in a matrix directed environment that is fully integrated with Web Services, Marketing, PR/Communications, as well as outside agencies and others to execute social media needs. Some travel to different Ministry Organizations within the West Michigan region to facilitate face-to-face engagements as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Communications or a related field. Minimum 2 years experience successfully managing social media strategy and content for organizations with a high traffic social media presence. Experience should including building, launching, and managing social media communities, social applications, and driving messaging across social avenues. Excellent writer/editor, well-organized and detail-oriented with experience managing online marketing and outreach campaigns using consistent branding. Pproficiency with all social media tools: the Web, blogs, broadcasts, ecstasy, wikis, applications, etc. required.
