The Patient Flow Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the Team Leader/Director regarding managing, planning, organizing and facilitating the daily activities related to patient flow through the procedural area and throughout the continuum of care. The Patient Flow Coordinator will ensure the optimal, effective and efficient flow of patients in a safe manner and provide high quality service for the perioperative patient. Communicating patient information to provide optimum patient care in the operating room and supporting departments. Assists in assuming responsibility for collaborating the clinical management of specific Perioperative, Preoperative, Postoperative and supporting teams. Will also function in multiple roles throughout the center, as needed. The Patient Flow Coordinator is the RN who, using the nursing process, designs, coordinates and delivers care to meet the needs of the patient undergoing the operative procedures. The RN assesses, diagnosis, plans, intervenes and evaluates the outcome of surgical intervention. Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family-centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. - Current licensure for Registered Nurse for Texas
- BCLS certification; prefer CNOR certification
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing or diploma; prefer BSN
- 18 months OR experience
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher
- Proficiency on departmental equipment.
