Summary--Financial Analyst Sr

This position is a full-time, exempt/salaried opportunity with the University of Colorado Hospital. This position is based at our Lowry office in Denver, Colorado.

As a Senior Financial Analyst for the University of Colorado Hospital, you will be responsible for performing complex statistical, financial, and cost accounting analysis of financial reports and data and prepare subsequent narrative analysis for Hospital Leadership, the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Budget & Decision Support.

Job duties

  • Operational and capital budget support
  • Activity-based costing studies
  • Pro forma analyses for new business ventures
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis for the hospital's joint ventures
  • Complex financial and statistical analysis for the Institute for Healthcare Quality, Safety, and Efficiency (IHQSE) initiatives
  • Ad-hoc reporting as requested by Hospital Leadership


  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting (or related field)
  • 4 years of relevant experience in healthcare
  • Excellent verbal and email communication skills
  • Ability to quickly build strong relationships with hospital leadership


  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with budgeting, traditional cost accounting methods, activity based-costing methods, and general ledger accounting are required
  • Experience with EPSI cost accounting or equivalent system
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical/procedural coding a plus
