Job Details:
  • The School of Nursing is currently seeking a Manager, Admissions Program. Under limited supervision, the Manager, Admissions Program will be responsible for all aspects of the student admission process for a specific program or groups of programs following recruitment by Admissions Counselors. This position ensures the successful transition of the student from the admissions process through orientation.

     

    Essential Functions:

    Ø  Develops a successful admissions plan for the academic program(s) supported.

    Ø  Contributes to the development of policies and procedures for the admissions committees in the supported academic area.

    Ø  Develops processes for committee evaluation of candidates.

    Ø  Manages the admissions process for the supported academic program(s).

    Ø  Represents the office of admissions as a participant on admissions committees, information sessions and other admissions-related events.

    Ø  Recommends opportunities to enhance student services from inquiry through orientation.

    Ø  Coordinates admissions reporting for the program.

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Ø  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

    Ø  2 years of experience in admissions, student enrollment or a related field.

    Ø  Experience with and/or knowledge about graduate education preferred.

    Ø  Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    ü  Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

    ü  Skill in exercising initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment with an ability to solve problems and make decisions.

    ü  Knowledge of best practices in student admissions.

    ü  General knowledge of student financial aid programs.

    ü  Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound judgments about fit and potential for success.

    ü  Skill in negotiation and persuasive communications.

    ü  Ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects necessary to implementing a specific program.

    ü  Skill in communicating efficiently and effectively both orally and in writing with a variety of people both internally and externally.

    ü  Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality of services and processes.

    ü  Skill in relevant PC applications, including Banner.

     

    Hiring Range: Commensurate with education and experience
