Purpose and Scope
The Assistant Director of Managed Care is the day to day liaison between the hospital and the health plans with which the hospital contracts. Develop and maintain relationships with health plan liaison personnel (provider relations representatives). At the direction of the AVP performs data analysis of payer performance, financial and volume; participates in Managed Care contract negotiations with the AVP. Oversees the successful operational implementation of all Commercial and Governmental Managed Care contracts. The Director gathers information from health plan liaison, websites, newsletters and other publications regarding health plan policies and procedures that impact the hospital's provision of services and reimbursement. Maintains and updates this information in database that is provided to all appropriate employees. The purpose of this position is to facilitate ongoing activities that will ensure the continued growth and financial success of Virginia Hospital Center. Assists the Associate Vice President of Managed Care in all of his/her duties.
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management or Related Field Required. Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or Related Field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in Healthcare/Medical-Managed Care, Benefits and Contract Administration, and Provider Relations.
