Purpose and Scope:
The incumbent is responsible for prepping, scanning, and analyzing discharged patient records for all record types. The incumbent is responsible for maintenance of area to include filing of all completed records and all loose sheets. Individual is responsible for assisting in discharge processing and E.R. chart and transcription processing as assigned. Scanning loose materials as received in the Health Information Management Department. The incumbent must be detailed oriented and be able to work independently. Accept incoming telephone calls and giving general information to requestors.
I. Position Requirements:
A. Education: Must have the ability to speak, read and write English at the High School Level. A High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
B. Experience: Previous medical record experience preferred. Must have aptitude for detail. Must have strong communication skills. Must be able to prioritize work and perform independently. Minimum typing skills required for use of the CRT. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend and lift throughout the day. One year of scanning and/or analysis experience preferred. One year general office work, including customer service and filing. Incumbent must possess the ability to work steadily through frequent interruptions to meet established deadlines.
