  • Position Purpose:

    Responsible for supporting the development of clinical information systems & information technology that assist clinicians in the delivery of patient care.  Serves as an advocate of management in promoting the use of information technology in the clinical setting.  Works in partnership with Information Services (IS) to translate clinician requirements into specifications for new clinical information systems.  Works with clinical practice councils to improve patient care. Works with education services to ensure the development of education plans to support continuous adoption of new clinical information functionality.  Serves as liaison with medical staff leadership to support medical staff implementation of clinical information functionality. 

     

    Under the general direction of the Chief Nurse Nursing Officer, this position is responsible and accountable for planning and leading staff to assume accountability for decisions and actions of cost-effective patient care in the department in accordance with Federal, State, and JCAHO requirements and organizational goals.  This position is accountable for planning, organizing, and managing departments and projects as assigned.

     

    The Manager of Clinical Informatics will serve as a project leader, as assigned by the Chief Nursing Officer.  These projects will include, but not be limited to, process development and implementation including projects relating to EMR, strategic management and planning and consulting on operations.   

    Nature and Scope:

    The Manager of Clinical Informatics will be responsible for the establishment and management of a centralized area for Renown Health’s need for clinical process and information standardization, education, communication and compliance.  The position is responsible for coordination and execution of deliverables related to the Electronic Medical Record and other projects as identified by the Chief Nursing Officer.

     

    Duties/responsibilities include but not limited to the following: team leadership, financial management, human resource management, planning, business and clinical operations, and project management.

    Minimum Qualifications:  Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

    Education:

    Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Bachelor’s degree in business management, healthcare or related field required.  Master’s degree in business management, healthcare or finance preferred.

    Experience:

    Five years of health care experience in a position of increasing responsibility, including experience with Electronic Medical Record.

    License(s):

    Ability to obtain and maintain State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.

    Certification(s):

     

    Computer / Typing:

    Microsoft Office proficient, strong computer skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
