MRI Technologists work under the direct supervision of the Radiology Director and/or Manager, Clinical Coordinator or Lead Technologist and the Radiologist. MRI Technologists are required to perform routine diagnostic procedures as necessary in the daily operational objectives of the Medical Imaging Department of Wellmont Health System as set forth by hospital guidelines and policies, regulatory agency mandates, the radiology medical staff and radiology administrative personnel. MRI Technologists are expected to perform MRI testing in a safe manner at all times by taking all necessary precautions and measures in compliance with safety training and applying MRI training to prepare the patient, equipment and surroundings for the best possible diagnostic study available.
Successful completion of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. Valid and/or updated registry/certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) Certification as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging technologist.
A.R.R.T. State License and Certification in M.R.I.
CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALS
