  • General Summary:

    The CRNA works to provide anesthesia services in an anesthesia team setting under the supervision of anesthesiologists from the group Holston Anesthesia Associates. This includes a complete scope of practice including pre-operative assessment, anesthesia delivery in the OR, labor and delivery, and emergency airway support throughout the hospital. It includes anesthesia delivery for emergency cases as well as a variety of all surgical specialties. The CRNA will also provide post-operative visit documentation of any complications related to anesthesia care. The CRNA will work to provide and assist with ancillary services as needed throughout the hospital (ie. IV starts). The CRNA will participate with various educational and process improvement initiatives as required by the hospital. The CRNA will document all care completely and insure proper documentation for billing purposes. The CRNA will cover “on call” anesthesia services during the week, on weekends and holidays as required by the department.


    Successful completion of an Anesthesia Program from an accredited school and successful completion of the national certification exam offer by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Recertification every two years by the NBCRNA.

    Chief CRNA and Chief Operating Officer


    CRNA License and recertification every two years by the NBCRNA.

    CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALS.
