Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be registered in Sleep Technology by the Board or Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or the American Association of Respiratory Care.
Training and Experience: Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, associates, patients and visitors. On job training provided for acquisition of studies. Maintains current BLS Healthcare provider.
Job Knowledge: Delivers appropriate care to patients from neonatal through geriatrics with regards to age specific considerations.
Under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Director and Medical Director, performs various polysomnograms and other sleep disorder tests. Responsible for attaching electrodes and monitors to patients who are participating in a sleep study. Monitors the patient throughout the sleep study and documents observations, collects data from various monitors and reports this information to the physician. Responsible for CPAP titration and oxygen therapy when applicable. Scores reports when technically competent.
