Position Summary:


The dietitian performs all aspects of nutritional therapy for outpatients as well as high-risk inpatients referred through the DETC, coordinates clinical teaching/learning aspect of the diabetes program. He/She acts as a productive contributor to the program in supporting all functions of the program.


Job Responsibilities:


·         Utilizes appropriate steps in the decision making process to include recognition and priority setting related to patient care. Addresses issues with appropriate actions.

·         Collaborates with the health care team

·         Integrates patient right into work practice

·         Utilizes and monitors methods of infection control

·         Participates in performance Improvement initiatives

·         Attends mandatory inservices

·         Utilizes cost containment practices

·         Adheres to all WPHC policies and procedures including dress code, code of conduct, customer service, attendance and submission of annual physicals

·         Ability to determine the learning needs of the patient

·         Ability to conceptualize, produce and evaluate programs

·         Excellent written and communication skills

·         Performs other duties as needed

·         Provides group and individual education

·         Completes competency requirements


Education, Training, Licensure and Experience Requirements


§         Registered Dietitian, licensed or certified where applicable.

§         Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.

§         Member of the American Dietetic Association.

§         Successful completion of Department Programs

§         Successful completion of WPHC orientation program

§         Minimum of 1 year experience
