The responsibility of the ELC Teacher Assistant is to assist in the care and education of children from one month to seven years of age, with light housekeeping included. Creates and maintains a healthy, safe and positive environment for children. Ensure children are well supervised at all times. Assist children with diapering, hand washing, feeding, clean-up and any other needs they may have. Understand and comply with Department of Early Learning Licensing Standards. Serve snacks and lunch according to Health District guidelines. Maintains confidentiality of information and files of children and families. Respond productively to interruptions and changing conditions. Possess advanced knowledge of children's physical and intellectual competencies for ages one month to six years. Maintain and promote teamwork with all staff. Participate in ongoing training and regular staff meetings. Maintain an appropriate level of responsibility for updating job-related knowledge and skills level including applicable Joint Commission requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Teacher Assistant I: High School Diploma or GED.
Teacher Assistant II: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood education or related field.
Experience: Previous experience working with children required.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: CPR/1st aid, food handler's card and STARS certifications required. Required to complete a TB Test every year as well as BBP/HIV training.
