    The Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing major service line (orthopedics, cardiac, oncology, hospice, etc.) marketing efforts for Virginia Mason Memorial. The Marketing specialist is responsible for the project management of multiple marketing efforts to ensure consistency in the Virginia Mason Memorial brand and promise. The Marketing specialist will also build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, create and maintain internal production requests in support of direct marketing efforts, proofs, vet and approve creative execution to assure project plan requirements are delivered, and lead and/or contribute to direct marketing projects as assigned.



    Meet with key stakeholders to develop and implement marketing and communication strategies and tactics for Memorial Family of Services. Provide communication coordination, including crisis communications, for all senior leaders and managers, and oversees relationships with outside public relations agencies as necessary. Provide leadership to internal and external groups in developing communications plans. Manages strategy and integrated marketing and communications plans that clearly articulate the mission, vision and values of Memorial. Ability to strategize the role of the web and interactive media to determine how it fits into system's overall communications plans. Coordinates electronic media budget and develops strategic outreach associated with brand positioning, service-line mass media as well as community relations' communications through electronic mediums; including TV, radio, web, intranet, and interactive media outlets. Evaluate the big picture and develop strategic action plans for short and long term implementations as well as comply with organization and Communicators department's policies and standards to assist in successful operations of the department. Plays an active role in encouraging and communicating community development internally and externally.



    Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; communications, journalism, marketing or related field

    Experience:  Minimum 5-7 years of work of healthcare marketing and /or communication/public relations experience preferred. Understanding of healthcare, hospital operations and healthcare financial environment preferred.

    Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Current Washington State driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage required.

    Configurated Hours: Configuration 40 hour work week - Overtime accrues when working over 40 hours in a Sunday - Saturday work week
